Conscious Communication Workshop with Phillip Wilder, PhD

Saturday June 15 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

This is a two-part series: June 15th and June 29th. Ticket price includes both dates.

Do you sometimes feel you aren’t being heard and aren’t truly connected to the people around you? True connection with others depends on Conscious Communication or the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically. The good news is this is a practice that can be learned! A two-part workshop based on Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall Rosenberg will be led by Dr. Phillip Wilder, Associate Professor of Literacy at Clemson University.

An example of NVC topics:
Communicating to Connect & Honest Speech: How does our communication create connection or disconnection? How can I speak honestly?

Empathetic Listening & Embracing Conflict: Peace comes not from the absence of conflict but form the ability to cope with it. Why is it so hard to empathize with those who need it the most? How can conflict be an opportunity for connection?

Be sure and bring your lunch, journal and pen. Snacks and drinks provided.
